Cashier/Barista/Customer Service: We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with the public. Prior customer service and espresso-drink preparation experience preferred but not necessary. In addition to a passion for superior customer service, qualified candidates must be able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Possession of California Food Handlers Certificate required or the ability to obtain with 14 days of hire. Hourly wage plus considerable tips.
Position requires standing and bending up to 8 hours - Lifting up to 25 pounds max.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer service functions including greeting customers and ensuring a clean and satisfying experience. Making espresso drinks for customers, high level of customer interaction, keeping the store clean, and maintaining the presentation of our goods. Taking deli orders and communicating with the Deli Staff to ensure quick and accurate delivery of food orders.
WORKING SCHEDULE & PAY RANGE: Open 7 days a week with flexible shifts. Must be available from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm during the week and on weekends. At Scratch Bakery Cafe, we bake handmade breads fresh every day, the way bread has been made for centuries in Europe. We use the finest all-natural ingredients and leaven our doughs with natural starters. Our skilled artisan baker then shapes each loaf by hand to preserve the open, airy structure of the dough. The loaves are allowed to rise slowly to enhance the complex flavors of the wheat. Finally, the bread is scored by hand and baked in our specialty ovens to create its beautiful caramel-colored, crunchy crust.
